How to Care for Your CANDLESTONE Candles
To get the most out of your handcrafted candles and ensure a safe, clean burn every time, follow these simple care instructions:
⚠️ Important Safety Warnings
- Never touch a burning candle or its container - the wax and vessel become extremely hot during use.
- Never move a lit candle - always extinguish the flame and allow the candle to cool completely before handling or relocating.
- Always burn on a heat-resistant surface and never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Before the First Burn
- Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before lighting. This helps prevent smoking and ensures an even burn.
- Allow enough time for the first burn. Let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the container to prevent tunneling. This usually takes 2-3 hours.
During Each Burn
- Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent overheating.
- Keep the candle away from drafts, vents, and fans to ensure an even burn.
Between Burns
- Trim the wick to 1/4 inch each time before relighting.
- Remove any debris or wick trimmings from the wax pool.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the fragrance.
When to Stop Burning
- Discontinue use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom.
- Never burn a candle all the way down to avoid overheating the container.
After Your Candle is Finished
Your beautiful concrete vessel can be repurposed! Clean out any remaining wax with hot water and soap, then use it as a planter, storage container, or decorative piece.
